SPYM-CHF Activity Report
Society for Promotion of Youth & Masses (SPYM) has set-up a "Drop-in Centre with Shelter Facility" at Chandni Chowk, Delhi. It is located around Delhi's largest railway station, Inter State Bus Terminus & metro station. So, a large number of children have come to this transit zone and become rag pickers, beggars etc., and abusing various types of drugs. Early intervention can help avoid lasting drug abuse and prevent crime, while helping children make good decisions for their own personal growth.
Child Health Foundation & Society for Promotion of Youth & Masses, signed a contract on 26th June, 2013 wherein CHF has agreed to provide technical and monetary support to SYPM’s Drop-in shelter for homeless children at Chandni Chowk, Delhi.
CHF-ABSN School Activity Report
ABSN (Antibiotic Stewardship Network in India) an initiative by R. D. Gardi Medical College, in collaboration with Karolinska Institute and supported by SIDA (Swedish International Development Agency) aims to build a networking platform of likeminded people, cutting across medical disciplines to fight for the cause.
ABSN and CHF have signed an MoU on 06-09-2013 wherein they will focus on enhancing Child Health by improved Hand hygiene practices, hand Hygiene campaigns at schools & distributing IEC material, Inter-school drawing/extempore competition, rallies by school students on Zn/ORS promotion in identified villages and drama/ skit/ mimics at community places.
RCV TBCS & CHF Activity
Rotary Club of Vellore TB Control Society (RCV TBCS) and Child Health Foundation (CHF) have signed an MoU on 21st September 2013 wherein they have decided to establish a school-based Children’s TB Awareness and Behavior Modification project in Vellore through innovative methods and have pledged to work for the health and wellbeing of children and provide health education through appropriate means.
RCV TBCS & CHF will educate the public in Vellore City (population, 500,000) for removing fear and stigma associated with the diagnosis of TB; enablepersons with symptoms to seek early diagnosis and undergo full course of treatment; teach school children and teachers about the microbial causation of TB and to inculcate hygienic habits including cough/sneeze etiquette by covering mouth/nose by handkerchief; to encourage children to learn these messages and teach their parents at home; and assist children with infection with TB bacilli and those with TB disease with appropriate healthcare.
